The Scottish Government have suspended all routine community eye care services from Monday 23rd March 2020 as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and have instructed all optometry practices to provide only emergency and essential eye care until further notice. NHS Scotland advise NOT to attend your GP or pharmacy with any eye problem but to call first your optometrist for a NHS funded telephone / video consultation.
Consequently Crystal Optometry in Edinburgh remain open, behind locked doors, to provide an Essential and Emergency Eye Care service. We hope soon to launch "new way" face-face eye examinations for priority patients but there is a backlog. The document here of 16th June 2020 explains all the changes we've made.
